As some of you may already be aware, I’m a pretty enthusiastic supporter of Elance. I think they have a great platform to allow freelancers like me to live wherever I want to live and setup a schedule that allows me to shred day in and day out. Granted, I occasionally get annoyed with buyers who want people to write for pennies, and it bothers me that there are so many people hucking bogus products, but I’ve found some great clients on Elance who pay me quite well.
Yesterday, Elance announced their “What Does Your Cloud Commute Look Like?” contest. People basically submit videos of their daily commute to their laptop, showing how the Elance platform makes their (relatively) carefree lives possible. So I figured I’d give it a try, and I decided to throw some snowboarding footage together and make a mini-commercial for the platform that is mostly responsible for making my dream possible.
If you have the time, I encourage you to send a link to this video to as many people as possible. The grand prize for the contest is $5,000 or a vacation to the capital city of your choice. Runners up receive a 64GB Apple iPad with Wifi and 3G. While you’re at it, go ahead and leave some anti-inflammatory comments. YouTube is a harsh landscape, and I’ll need all the help I can get!
Ted-
Saw this on the elance.com facebook page.
I live in Breck. Nice job. I’ve used elance to create a line of tapestries for the Breckenridge ski area. Keystone is next.
Keep up the great work!
Hey Erik,
That’s really cool. Where can I see these fine tapestries?
On another note, how excited are you that Breck will be opening tomorrow? I’m waxing my snowboard tonight. It’s time to hit some jumps!
See you on the slopes,
